At the risk of boring you with more Marcus Vick news, I will tell you that he has now decided to go pro one day after his dismissal from the Virginia Tech football team was announced. He had the option of staying in school to complete his degree, but you knew that was not his objective in getting “an education” at Virginia Tech, anyway. Following is an excerpt of the statement issued by his lawyers:
I have decided to enter the NFL draft. I am very excited about this opportunity and look forward to proving my athletic ability at the professional level. I believe I am ready for this challenge and the next chapter of my life.
In an earlier post, this Turkey had questioned whether any NFL team would want Vick if he declared himself for the draft. There are too many good quarterbacks in the draft this year to take a chance on a chronic scofflaw like Vick. It would serve him right if there was little interest in this walking, talking discipline problem.
Who would you pick if you had the choice—Marcus Vick or Michael Robinson? I think I know the answer to that question.
