Last night, this Turkey watched a televised NFL pre-season game pitting the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the New York Jets. Besides my quasi-rooting interest in the Bucs, being the NFL team that plays closest to the Turkey’s roost, I was hoping for a glimpse of PSU alumnus Alan Zemaitis in his new uniform. I was not disappointed.

A Rotten Buckeye
Maurice Clarett, who is in perpetual trouble with the law, has exacerbated his woes. The former Ohio State freshman sensation and Fiesta Bowl hero, who left Ohio State after having run-ins with the law and who later sued the NFL to allow him to enter the draft before he turned 21, stupidly flipped a U-turn on an Interstate highway in front of some cops—with four loaded firearms in his vehicle. The cops used tack strips to stop him and they eventually had to subdue him with mace.
This is a crying shame. Satan must have grabbed Clarett by the buckeyes xanax online pharmacy reviews sometime after his freshman year and wrested him away from his chosen calling. If Clarett had stayed with the system and toed the line for three more years, he likely would have set himself up for a life of comfort and joy. He chose the dark side, but he wanted the NFL career, too. Alas, it was not to be. While he lost his court case with the NFL, when he became age-eligible he was actually drafted in the third round in 2005 by the Denver Broncos. He was subsequently cut.

Who’s the Most Sought After Fantasy Player?
This year, the most sought after NFL fantasy football player is Penn State’s own Larry Johnson, now of the NFL Kansas City Chiefs. I just heard Tiki Barber of the New York Giants, no slouch himself, state that LJ would be his cornerstone pick.
There’s even a television commercial that centers around Larry’s desirability as a fantasy player. It promotes ESPN’s cell phones. Reggie Bush is in it and the theme is that Heisman aside, LJ is the top pick for this year, not Bush (which you can presumably glean by getting the stats through your ESPN cell phone). The setting is someone’s house, with a bunch of guys sitting around making their fantasy pick. Bush is sitting in the middle. It goes something like this:
Reggie Bush: Who you picking first in the fantasy draft this year?
Unidentified Guy: I think I’m going with Larry Johnson.
RB: That’s messed up. I got the Heisman and you’re picking LJ first in my league?
UG: OK, here goes. With the first pick in the 2006 fantasy draft, I select Reggie Bush.
RB: Good. Now I can get LJ!
All this Turkey has to say is that Larry had better live up to the promise for which he set the bogey with last season’s second half performance, or there will be a lot of pissed-off fantasy football players around this great land of ours!
