I shall quickly state that no Penn State players were picked in the first two rounds of the NFL Draft. Rounds three through seven will take place on Sunday.
In the high-profile quarterback derby, Matt Ryan of BC was #3 overall, going to Atlanta. Joe Flacco of Delaware was #18 overall. He went to the Ravens. Brian Brohm of Louisville and Chad Henne of Michigan both were late second-round picks, picked back-to-back by Green Bay and Miami.
Interestingly enough, seven offensive tackles were first round picks, whereas there were no wide receivers in the initial round.
Altogether, four linebackers were selected in the first two rounds. two in each. Dan Connor was not one of them. This came as a surprise to many self-appointed pundits who believed Connor was a late first or early second-rounder. This Turkey believed he would go in the second round.
I’ll be back with tomorrow’s news. At least two Nittany Lions surely will be drafted!
