Disgraced Ohio State head football coach Jim Tressell will start his new job for the NFL Indianapolis Colts no earlier than Week 7 due to a self-imposed suspension.
At our ISU-PSU viewing party in The Cave, Zbeard expressed the feeling that if Terrelle Pryor was suspended by the NFL for his college hijinx, then so should Tressell. This large-mouthed Turkey asserted that coaches and players are two different things in the NFL, and Tressell shouldn’t be sidelined as Pryor was — if only because I wanted to make fun of him sooner. However, now, Tressell has voluntarily suspended himself, probably after a phone call from Zbeard.

Meanwhile, Peyton Manning will not practice until doctors clear him, which might not be soon. There is some talk about Manning needing a second neck surgery. With Orlovsky having been cut, there’s no doubt that former PSU standout and veteran, once retired NFL journeyman quarterback Kerry Collins will start for the Colts.
