Everybody knows by now that Jerry Sandusky was interviewed by telephone by Bob Costas of NBC, and the interview broadcast later yesterday evening on Rock Center. Of course, Sandusky asserted his innocence. ????? ???? ????? What else would he do? However, the big question is “Why?”. Why did he choose to be interviewed on national TV?
My thoughts are that his attorney, Joe Amendola, staged the whole thing as part of his defense strategy, setting up a McQueary versus Sandusky main event. The burden of proof is, of course, on the prosecution. ????? ????? ?? ???????? As far as you and I know, all the prosecution has is what is contained in the grand jury presentment. Amendola thinks that no one other than McQueary has witnessed Sandusky doing anything illegal and none of the alleged victims have stepped up to testify against him. The witness of the 2000 episode is now suffering from dementia, unable to testify. Additionally, with the media frenzy having blown the whole thing out of proportion with conjectures and innuendos, Amendola will argue that there is no venue in the United States that hasn’t been tainted by media bias. So, why not give Sandusky a little more media coverage, proclaiming his innocence? bet365 arab It couldn’t hurt!
Well, that’s what I think he has up his sleeve, anyhow. I’d like some of the legal folks out there to comment on this. What do you think?
Oh, by the way, Amendola impregnated a 17 year-old schoolgirl who expressed interest in the law when he was 49. Let’s get that out of the way so we don’t dwell on it. Amendola is not on trial here.
