It’s Sunday morning after an impressive victory over Iowa. As we await this week’s AP and USA Today polls, I ask the burning question: Why the hell shouldn’t Penn State be ranked in the top 25? ?????? ?????? I think they deserve it.
Iowa State, Michigan, Texas, and Stanford were all in there last week with 4-2 records. With a 5-2 record Penn State should be right around 25. betway
They received one AP vote last week. This week, they should get more. ?????? ????? ???
I’ll assume that the BCS will not come into play due to the Penn State’s post season ineligibility, but does the non-football scandal at Penn State hurt its chances to be ranked by the independent polls, or do you think the Cinderella factor might actually work in favor of the Nittany Lions?
In any event, we’ll know soon.

More than anything else, I want to hear what Corso, Herbsteit, et al have to say about PSU football at this time. The Nittany faithful should offer up a collective prayer to the pigskin gods that their team beats OSU on tv next Saturday night. If that happens then we know for sure those gameday clowns are empty suits and don’t know nothin’ about nothin’.

And we didn’t know that already? I’m to the point where I could care less as to what the “experts” are NOW saying about PS. The praise and Hosannahs today are coming from the same people that were predicting the program would self combust because they would be lucky to win two or three games each season for the next 20 years.
I could also care less whether they are ranked or not. To me it doesn’t matter if we end up 22nd or un-ranked in these flawed polls. What’s important to me is what are O’Brien and his coaching staff building for the future, what’s the attitude of the current team and acceptance by the kids that are looking to come to PS in future classes.
I have taken the approach of avoiding the mainstream sports reporters opinions and sticking with the PS sites (Onward State, BSD and VBR to name a few) and with the local sports from Harrisburg, York, Reading and Altoona to get my fill of PS information simply because it’s better than reading a 500 word BS column or listening to the likes of Mark May, Gregg Doyle or Jason Whitlock rant on and on just because they think that’s what everyone wants to hear.
I want them to beat “that team from Ohio” because they are better coached, are more focused and have a better game plan and because it’s the holier than thou Buckeyes. What it does to their poll rankings doesn’t mean a thing to me.
I also want them to beat them because it will be fun to watch Urban Meyer’s head implode!!!!
