Hiya to all my slappies! Your favorite turkey survived Thanksgiving and might well make it into the new year! Only a few more hours and it will be 2015!
This year has passed very quickly. It seems like it was just yesterday when I was bitching about how football season couldn’t come soon enough. Now, it’s all over but for the big boys fighting it out to see who’ll be #1 the first year of the playoffs.
TCU made a strong statement today for their non-inclusion to be questioned; if the Schmuckeyes suuuuuuuuuck as expected tomorrow, there’ll be hell to pay. (Can I say “hell” in connection with a Christian institution?)
The coaching merry-go-round has ground to a halt with Jim Harbaugh going to Michigan. All of us will be watching to see whether Harbs can turn the program around in Ann Arbor after being in the doldrums since Lloyd Carr left.
The usual post-season round of rumors and declarations are in progress as Nittany Lions with remaining eligibility posture themselves for life beyond 2014, either declaring for the NFL Draft or pledging continuing loyalty to their alma mater. Deion Barnes and Donovan Smith have already expressed their intention to see how valuable they’ll be to the NFL. Jesse James might be right behind them out the door.
So, it’s business as usual at the turkey coop, reading the football news, watching bowls, making spare ribs & sauerkraut, and anticipating a naturally sweet night of celebration with Artificially Sweetened. While I have a chance, I want to wish all of you slappies, sanguinarians, and the rest of you normal people a very healthy, happy, and prosperous New Year and the all best in 2015!

At least if I’m considered a slappy, I’m in good company. Right back at ya for 2015 Ben!
