(Sung to the tune of “Home on the Range”).
Noon, noon on the road,
Where the Lions and the Buckeyes will play.
And ever is heard a discouraging word,
‘Cause noon kickoffs are so gay!
Just sayin’. Kickoff time for the great big showdown between purportedly #6 and purportedly #3 (rankings are bullshit but good for TV hype) is set for noon in Columbus. Yep, home of “that dullard look.” Urban Meyer uttered it, we’re coining it. And guess what, kimosabe? Michigan is a noon kickoff, too, albeit at the Big Beave. Clearly, other than “BIG NOON”, our primo Big Ten games ain’t prime-time material!

Saw that but don’t think it will really matter. What we have here are two nearly identical teams. Offensively, both sets of turnstiles stink. Tight Ends are even. Quarterbacks are even. The difference is the best receiver the game has seen since Calvin Johnson resides in Columbus. Defensively, I think OSU is ahead in the secondary and up front while we are better in the middle. Linebacker U and all. Day is better than Franklin seven ways to Sunday. Ultimately, it won’t matter as Michigan is better than last year and will steam roll both of us in all likelihood and I think they are duking it out with Washington for number 2 behind Oregon.

I must agree that although tOSU is a probable loss in Columbus, Michigan appears to be unbeatable, at least for someone playing on PSU’s level. Manny’s aggressive defense will surely not contain them, so even if we manage to fix the glaring weaknesses in the offense by then, it’ll be a lopsided loss.
Georgia will be in the mix when the playoff dust settles. Just ask Mark Stoops.

Going in, I had Washington, Michigan, Texas and Georgia as my playoff teams with Florida State being the odd team out from the power five champions. OU obviously toppled Texas and will likely win out barring a rematch with the Longhorns (I don’t know if that is possible given the weird way the Big XII does its championship), though in that scenario, the referines are likely to favor OU anyone to get the league a playoff spot (yes it has come to that). I know think Oregon is better than Washington. I have Oregon vs. Georgia and Michigan vs. Oklahoma and Ducks vs. Wolverines in the title game.

We’ll find out whether the Ducks are better than the Dogs this weekend.
Seeing how tOSU played against Indiana and Maryland, I would take Purdue plus the 19.5 in W. Lafayette this weekend.
