As my six loyal readers probably are aware, I do some volunteer work, and among my favorite volunteer stints is my fund raising for the American Heart Association. At this time every year, this turkey reaches out from his heart to yours to ask for support for my efforts, which culminate in the Greater Orlando Heart Walk. Last year was a banner year. I raised over $1,800 for this great cause. This year, I’m getting a late start, so I’ve set more modest goals.
Heart disease and stroke have impacted most of us in a very negative way. My two grandfathers died as the result of heart attacks before they had reached my age; my father had a bypass operation in his sixties, but died of other causes. Thus, I’m particularly sensitive to matters of the heart and cardiovascular system.
If you feel so inclined, please support the American Heart Association with a donation by clicking on the thermometer icon at the top of the rightmost column on this page, which I have also included below for your convenience. If you plan to be in the Orlando area on September 10, please join us for a few hours on Saturday morning for a nice, 3-mile walk with about 10,000 close friends.
Thanks!
